If you purchased certain Motorola Cell Phones and had difficulty charging your phone, you may be entitled to a cash payment.

A Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Motorola, Inc. on behalf of consumers who purchased certain models of Motorola cellular telephones. After final Court approval of the Settlement, eligible Settlement Class Members may receive cash payments.

This Settlement Class consists of all individuals who purchased a Covered Cell Phone from Motorola or one of Motorola’s Authorized Resellers between January 1, 2000 and October 1, 2009. “Covered Cell Phones” means the Motorola cellular telephone models that are listed in Exhibit A to the Settlement Agreement. You can view Exhibit A by clicking here. A list of Motorola Authorized Resellers can be viewed by clicking here.

Under the Settlement, Settlement Class Members who file a timely, complete, and accurate Claim Form and Affirmation will receive relief that is comparable to the relief that they would likely receive if they were to successfully and individually litigate their claims without the inherent risks and costs of litigation. The amount of relief available to a particular Settlement Class Member is dependent upon the length of time he or she owned the phone at the point that it first experienced a charging problem related to a defective Charging Port, whether the Settlement Class Member reported the problem to Motorola, and the type of documentation submitted by the Settlement Class Member with the Claim Form and Affirmation.

For more information about the Settlement, click on the Notice tab.

YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE PROPOSED SETTLEMENT WHETHER YOU ACT OR DON’T ACT. IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE PROPOSED CLASS YOU SHOULD CAREFULLY CONSIDER THE OPTIONS OUTLINED IN THE NOTICE.
